I bought this for an 8 AWG fitting. In that sense it works. But: 1. The nylon gasket in the nut is of poor quality and does not clamp the wire well enough to ensure a secure seal. I used gaskets from another (same cheap) connector.2. Standard MC4 tools are not suitable. You can use one on the front, but it doesn't quite slide. You can't use one on your back. My only choice was to use a metal key in a plastic nut. If you need to install a lot of them, it doesn't have to be very productive.3. It is very difficult to separate the brand and socket as the latches have an extra cover and the standard MC4 tools cannot fit in the hole. I ended up cutting my way to the point where I could get under the clamp. Even then I had to use needle nose pliers and fight him.
