Perfect for mounting the Nikon Monarch 5 12x42 binoculars on a tripod. I've watched so many times that you need a tool (screwdriver or quarter-turn) to attach to your camera. It has a protruding flange (handle) with a 1/4" threaded bolt that you use to tighten your fingers onto the binocular. Doesn't interfere with the view. The base has (2) 1/4" threaded holes (I assume for adjustability since you only need one) to attach to the quick release mount on my tripod. Because it's so light, I just leave the adapter and quick-release skewer attached to the binoculars for quick-release and tripod mounting. This mount is very stable! Highly recommended! If I can figure out how to add photos I will. UPDATE: I had this adapter for 2 days and the handle went in and out freely. It wouldn't stay in place. It looks like the retainer (ball and spring) came out and won't stay in place. RETURNED: I have now received an email dated 03/09/17 saying I should have a replacement between 03/27/17 and 04/12/17. INDEED? Revain, are you one of them? WHY SO LONG?
