Simple adapter: binoculars

Not sure why the picture of this item is wrong but the picture below is the correct item, the packaging has the model number in the title. Anyway, the version I got works great. It is screwed onto a tripod (1/4 inch) and then binoculars are screwed onto it. It is made of aluminum. It's not too tall to lose rigidity and has a grip that protrudes a little past your binoculars lens to allow you to tighten the adapter. I think this adapter will last a long time. I have several 16x50's installedโ€ฆ

NOT FOR ROOF PRISM binoculars!

NOT FOR ROOF PRISM BINOCULARS. I REPEAT, NOT FOR ROOF PRISM BINOCULARS. doesn't even come close to mine. I truly believe now that I have to travel hundreds of miles to find one that will fit my binoculars. I'm not sure if they even exist! Where the screw cap on my binoculars falls off, the distance between the barrels is only about 15mm. It's maybe 18mm wide. I should have bought porro prism binoculars instead of roof prism binoculars. Mine are Cabela 12 x 50 and cost $230. Incredibly goodโ€ฆ

Will not work with roof prism binoculars and >42mm lenses

This should be stated in the description so I hope potential buyers read this review. This item will NOT work with roof prism binoculars and lenses larger than 42mm. The cylinder holding the threaded bolt is too wide. I have 10x42mm and 12x50mm Bushnell Engage binoculars. It is not attached between the lenses of either. It can be fitted to a 10x42 model, but if you need to narrow the distance between two lenses for your eyes, forget it. I'll find something narrower that might work. Otherwiseโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Negative present

Built like a rock but huge

This is a very strong mount but it's huge - it didn't fit my Bushnell 8x40 roof prism binoculars as they didn't fit between the barrels. I would only recommend this for binoculars with at least a 1" (2.5 cm) tube gap, so probably just a pair of porro prisms or a really big pair of roof prisms. If you don't have that, then I would recommend the Bushnell mounting bracket, which I have finally purchased it is much thinner but still strong enough to hold my binoculars on a tripod or monopod strongโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Almost never

Great design / light weight / highly recommended!

Perfect for mounting the Nikon Monarch 5 12x42 binoculars on a tripod. I've watched so many times that you need a tool (screwdriver or quarter-turn) to attach to your camera. It has a protruding flange (handle) with a 1/4" threaded bolt that you use to tighten your fingers onto the binocular. Doesn't interfere with the view. The base has (2) 1/4" threaded holes (I assume for adjustability since you only need one) to attach to the quick release mount on my tripod. Because it's so light, I justโ€ฆ
