Review on KYB SM5214 Strut Mount Rear by Jason Richardson

This part supposedly replaced the OEM on my 2009 Outback 2.5XT, but I suspected the problem was that the hole in the bracket that the strut bolt shaft bolted into was MUCH large. I proceeded to replace both, thinking the original strut would likely fit the new strut shaft. I was right. When I took it apart, the hole in the original old bracket fit the new KYB rack, but the new bracket would never fit unless some kind of bushing was screwed in and installed. I don't think the KYB think tank will miss this, but it's the same mount shown on many different sites. Save money and simply exchange the rubber ring for the original metal bracket. If I had time and patience, I would scream a lot more. Shame on CIB.
