First of all an absolutely beautiful car with elegant looks. I have it on my desktop and the profile is perfect. The Illy coffee is absolutely amazing, although I only wish they offered the decaffeinated Lungo (blue label) variety. Other small flaws are the water tank, which is not so easy to remove, and the coffee, which easily splashes when pulled out. a decent look at the ins and outs of owning one of these machines. Coffee: Illy's coffee is definitely better than Nespresso, with much better taste and crema. The only downside for those who prefer lungo shots is that the length of an Illy shot depends on the capsule (e.g. a 3.5 oz lungo shot takes a blue lungo capsule about 55 seconds, while a decaffeinated and medium roast requires 1:10). For Nespresso, you can take lungo out of any capsule and get a constant volume, although I would recommend only using lungo capsules for this. Finally, Nespresso offers caffeine-free Lungo capsules, while Illy only offers regular capsules. Operation: The Nespresso machine runs cleaner (doesn't splash) and is more compatible between Lungo and Espresso than Illy (see Coffee above for why). I also fill the tank of the Nespresso machine much better than the Illy machine. Coffee price: Illy is definitely more expensive than Nespresso per capsule. Overall: For espresso snobs who want convenience, I would suggest an Illy machine. For those who want sheer convenience or cheaper coffee, I would go with Nespresso. For lungo drinkers who don't drink decaffeinated coffee, Illy's Blue Label coffee maker is a solid choice. And for those who want decaffeinated lungo, Nespresso will be much more convenient, but with Illy it is possible. just a rush to change the brew time.
