I was going to use this for recall training for my 8 month old pup. initially, I accidentally allowed it to burn my hand. that hurt, but I understood it was an issue of my using it wrong. from then on I let it hang and stepped on in any case I really needed my dog to stop. his recall has become pretty good, and I'm grateful for that, because I will no longer be using this leash. it has tripped my niece, my other dog, and the last time I took it to the park it wrapped around my ankle for the entirety of a 30ft sprint, so I'm nursing that wound now. seriously be careful with these and use them only to allow a little bit of freedom. I wouldn't recommend it for roaming due to the trip and burn hazard.
