Review on Milescraft 1097 Stand Drill Rotary by Onsommoshit Mathews

A marginal device, but also correspondingly priced.

Hello everyone: I have a favorite project. I am preparing for what I thought this product would do without a lot of money and with a little adjustment I expect. I don't use it with Dremel. I have something else on my mind. But, --- after reading some of the questions, I think the following is necessary. I received and tested the product today. I guess that's to be expected for the price, but the description misled me where it said the "head" was metal. I have worked as an assembler in my own special machinery workshop for about 15 years and my experience is that the main body, which is attached to the vertical shaft of the column and contains the quill, pinion, cross shaft and arm, . this is the head. The adapter that bolts to the bottom of the quill is aluminum, a cast good enough to fit a Dremel, but the main unit and gears are all plastic. The base is cast aluminum, very beautiful. Vertical thin-walled metal tube column. The lever arm and cross shaft are made of steel. The plastic depth gauge has a small steel bolt at the bottom to attach it to the cast aluminum of the Dremel adapter which they apparently called the head. Removing the red panel from what I call the "head" reveals the plastic gear and steel spring, and the steel rack and pinion. The plastic gear and steel cross shaft will noticeably move up and down when you press on them with your finger or thumb, indicating they are loose. This works for your dremel for dremel. This would be a very easy inaccurate job. Don't press it and it will work for a while, but if you use it more like a real drill, use a drill press. I was expecting the main head and gear to be metal. upset. Given the price, I should have known better.
