Lots of air loss Best in bike tools and maintenance

When used with a Presta valve (thin and large) there is an unacceptable loss of pressure. more ergonomic than other sensors. It feels good in the hand and the head rotates to turn the face for a better view while reading. But that doesn't matter, because it will take a while anyway, and there will be a beep when it's done. The supposed "smart head" technology is a gimmick - it works in any setting on Schrader valving, so no need to change that, AFAIK. But even with the Shkrader setup it lets a lot of air through when plugged in compared to products that cost 1/3 the cost. For example, the AcuTire is lighter/cheaper and while still expensive, it loses the least pressure. read what I tried. Unfortunately, that only applies to SchrΓΆder. But it's worth using a Presta-Schrader adapter as it makes refilling easier and avoids pressure loss when using this Topeak gauge. all at the same time aggravating having to inflate the tire after every reading or two because it's losing 1+ PSI. And when reading the valve, Presta easily loses 10 times more. A couple of times it lost ALL air pressure when plugged in to take readings. While my technique may improve over time, other cheap tire gauges do not. Another random problem is missing readings. After a connection is established (even in Schroeder mode) and held, it beeps and then displays "0.0". This happened 20% of the time in the short time I used the Topeak meter before returning it. sure which one was inaccurate, but at least they're all consistent. The AcuTire gauge reads 1/2 psi, making it easier to balance tires because you can take multiple readings until the reading falls to a steady "0". But the Topeak scale always rounds down. Another disadvantage of this scale is that it has a power button. It doesn't take readings unless you turn it on first (unlike the AcuTire and analog gauges, which don't have a power button - although newer models might have one?). The Topeak is the most ergonomic instrument I've ever used, but it loses a star for this silly feature - it could easily be engineered to automatically turn on and take readings when pressure is applied.

Pros
  • Head Smart Head/Pressure Gauge Digital - PSI bar kg/cm2
Cons
  • Compatibility
