I bought this to use as a replacement for another drive that was nearing capacity so I started by wiping all the data off the old one drive that was about 1 TB in size. Data. Sometime midway through the ride, the transfer rate dropped from around 1500MB/s (the advertised speed) to under 10MB/s. When moving such a large amount of data, a speed of 10MB/s would take a very long time. I can't determine why this happened, so I don't know if it's because the write cache is filling up or if it's overheating. or what. In any case, it's no use to me if I can't transfer my data to it in a reasonable amount of time. For those working with small datasets, a drive might work well. But for me, working with large amounts of photos and videos, it's not good.
