This was my second Android TV; I used my previous model for a few years but decided I needed more RAM and smoother 4K. So it's not that I don't know what I do with these things. I hooked this up and it worked fine. I tested it with music and it ran fine, but when I tried to watch a movie I didn't have surround sound. I only heard one channel with background noise. I've tried with and without sound streaming in Android settings, PLEX and KODI settings and there was either partial sound or crashed completely. I ended up trying optical audio out instead of HDMI and had the same issues. I assume it was just a defective audio chip or something, but in the end I just gave up and sent it back.
