Zippers should never be part of an outfit from such a prestigious company.

K&N is a respected company. They have a solid reputation for providing quality filters. I bought their "Cold Air Intake" kit. I was disappointed in several aspects of this kit.1. Bolts come in different types and sizes. Yes, it's fairly easy to work out which screws are used where, but the instructions were poorly written as there is no legend to indicate where different screws are used. 2. There should be no reason to remove the coolant lines from the throttle body to install the air intake kit. It should also not be necessary to remove the entire rigid assembly. Just my opinion, yours may differ.3. Cable ties should not be present when securing replaced vacuum hoses. Of course, K&N could have come up with something safer and more professional. I mean, even a cultured schoolgirl avoids damn things! If it's a "cold air" intake, how can it get cold air with a 1" gap around the intake pipe? Why not install an extra rubber pad to at least fill it up more than that. Come on K&N! 5. If this box is a heat shield, why isn't it a multi-layer part like most auto companies make heat shields over the exhaust manifold? I didn't go with something else made by enthusiasts who know my car better.

Pros
  • EASY TO INSTALL: Screws in under an hour with basic hand tools. K&N air intake systems are one of the easiest ways to guarantee more performance.
Cons
  • Minor issues
