Review on πŸ”§ Dorman 800-153 Steel Fuel Line Repair Kit - 3/8 in. x 18 in. with 16mm Fitting: Enhance Fuel Line Repairs for Select Models by Eric Jackson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The quality of the metal on the cord itself is pretty poor, I was amazed when I tried it.

Extremely low quality product. First, there is no spring in the kit to bend the tube. The quality of the metal on the cord itself is pretty poor, I was amazed trying to bend it by hand and it flexed easily and kinked immediately. The 3/8 fuel line is almost impossible to bend by hand, cheap metal obviously. The line also has an annoying bulge near the nut that makes it impossible to shorten the line. The compression fitting that comes with it is rubbish too, I couldn't get mine to seal and when I tried to tighten it, even if I didn't tighten it very hard, the fitting itself broke. For $10 it's a complete rip off as I got another one Had to buy compression fit for it and the only useful thing about it is the flared end (which can't be easily reproduced myself so I had to buy a kit first place) and everything else should basically be discarded or not included.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Some bugs
