Accidentally got caught on the floor by the edge of the shirt and broke immediately on first use. This is my second purchase of this particular belt - I ordered two from Revain when the original belt broke. The first was torn and torn with fibers and little bits of gum everywhere, also the belt was all wrapped up and snagged on the brush roll it was attached to. We just don't vacuum that often that these replacement parts fail the way they do. The first replacement could take a year, but that's only 20-30 uses. Many people seem to have this problem. I read from another reviewer how to set the height control to a higher setting so the brush barely touches the carpet - just enough to pick up dirt. Sounds like a good idea - I'll try it. Of course, this also extends the life of the brushroll, which costs around $15 if you need to replace it. I'm just wondering if I've been using my vacuum WRONG all these years with one of the lower height settings, why has it lasted so long compared to these new REAL LONG LIFE BELT? I'll order cheaper ones from another company, follow the advice of other reviewers and see what happens.
