Review on 🧵 Brother GX37 Sewing Machine with 37 Built-in Stitches and 6 Included Sewing Feet by Dawn Fischer

I bought this machine because I needed a light weight machine for working with rag rugs. I read many reviews and decided on this device. I decided to make a pillow case on it for the first project. I always use a 1/4" seam allowance with the 1/4" foot, which this machine doesn't have, so I moved the needle all the way to the right and with the foot I was able to get a meager 1/4", so I was happy with it. I know a lot of people have said the light isn't bright enough, but I think that's normal. I watched the video on You Tube and got it done in a minute. In a bag at the top on the machine when they're unpacked so you can't miss them. I make sure to use the guide. Especially when altering stitches so I can see what the recommended stitch length and width should be. I'm used to sewing on a computer controlled machine that pretty much sets everything up once you select a stitch.This machine feels really old fashioned to me because you really have to learn how to set stitches for your fabric to get it right.at Sew I used a different one coil and the problem went away, but I didn't really have to. The coils were normal size, but the holes had to be of a different diameter. My husband cut a circle out of cardboard, put a hole in it with a screwdriver and I slipped it over the spool of thread and this seems to keep the spool from bouncing around and the thread from my other spool works fine now. By far I would say this is a great car for travelers or beginners. I'll update my review in about a month to see how it holds up. It's just important to remember that this is an entry-level machine and you get what you pay for. Still, I expect it to be durable and last for several years. .PROS: Easy to install Bobbin works great Has 3 needle positions Very light machine Makes more stitches than other machines in the same price range CONS: Bobbin can jump on the spool pin when sewing at higher speeds. The accessory compartment is a description, but nothing more. It's really useless and doesn't hold anything. It's also a bit difficult to open. Feeders cannot be lowered. I find it difficult to use the included screwdriver.
