Review on Gradient Rainbow Multicolored Printer Filament by David Plunkett

Good filament with good color

First, people asked if there is any metal (or even gold) in the filament. no (Really $22 a roll?) It was sealed very well in a thick pouch with the air removed. The bag is not reusable. They also included samples of all their "Silk" threads, about 2-3 meters long, and some nozzle cleaners. The kit also includes a card telling you to contact them directly if you have a problem. It's bright and shiny in a roll. It's not as shiny as on the reel but is a nice golden color with some shine. The coil sticker recommends the pressure at 200-220. I ran the temp tower (with the fan off) from 220 to 180 degrees. The color is stable over the entire temperature range, with better hiding power at around 200°C. I printed several objects at 205°C without jamming, excellent print quality, very good layer adhesion (Magigoo on glass at 65°C) and color stability. I used CC3D silk thread and was satisfied. I was about to order CC3D silk gold when I saw this brand I thought I'd give it a try. I'm happy with what I've done. At $22 a roll, that's a great deal. I have ordered several TTYT3D threads and am happy with all of them. The last one I bought was rose gold. It is exactly the same color as you see in the photos and it has a nice name. I've just ordered a blue silk roll and I'm sure I'll be happy with it too. I highly recommend this yarn line. Also, I'm glad they include thread examples. "Bronze" is definitely dark green. I think they are targeting the green color on the bronze, not the bronze itself. But the blue silk pattern is fine. I just ordered a roll.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No power
