I have a chip on one of the blades. I don't understand how secure this bit is on a router. Vibrates like crazy! I used it with a circle gauge to make a 45 degree bevel on a round piece of pine and it worked fine. So I think it's normal for softer woods. I've had some success putting it in the tailstock of my lathe and pressing it into hollow molds where I need the tip inside. It's safer to use on a lathe, but when I rev it up it vibrates so much that the whole lathe starts moving across the floor.
