Review on SanDisk ImageMate Memory Reader SDDR 89 A15 by Stephen Hobbs

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Small, versatile and worth every penny. UPDATE 14 FEBRUARY 2010

After some experience with different media I needed a fast and flexible way to get data and pictures on my MAC G4. I found Imagemate and it's great. I use it for my Sony camcorder memory cards, my nephew's mini PSP memory duo, my Nikon digital camera SD card, my Palm SD card. It has a stand that looks good on my desk without taking up much space, about 2 x 3 inches, but I'm not sure because I don't use it to save space (not weight) in my laptop backpack. It holds the Imagemate upright and comes with a USB cable. It also comes with a shorter, cute USB cable for use without a stand. So it works without a stand. Imagemate matches the advert exactly, with one exception for MAC: it has a one-touch download button that doesn't work for MAC. Not sure if this is mentioned in the product description but it's not an inconvenience. I still give 5 stars. FYI, on a Mac, it shows up on the desktop when you insert the card, not when it's plugged into a USB port. And then the green light comes on. I'm really very picky about the technologies I buy. I travel all over the world, so every item I pack should be useful and practical. It's a light pen, works great and I'm not worried about transferring pictures or data from a memory card. Another sign that this was a good buy, my friends are now asking if I can use it. This is my best product purchase so far this year. UPDATE FEBRUARY 14, 2010 All technology has been updated since last review: laptop, cameras, etc. STILL using this product. Fits everywhere with my laptop, camera and netbook because you never know when you'll need them. Worth every penny. I don't position myself on a trip to save space. Very small, almost weightless.
