Pros and Cons - Tracker

My cat is old and we turned her into an indoor cat. He still tries to get off at every opportunity. Having been captured before by the well-meaning Catwoman next door, we ordered this. Advantages: The battery is always charged. It is expected to last up to 6 months, unlike GPS trackers which are more accurate and cover distances but require constant charging. The likelihood that my cat would escape the day his device was fully charged and ready simply defied Murphy's Law. So this tracker solves that problem. It also has a little flashing light to let you know it's working. The light can be easily turned off if it bothers you. The application also allows you to check the battery. i use light I think if the collar falls off, as it often does when it's off, it might help me find it in the dark, as could the cat pressing on the collar. He's light, calm and doesn't seem to bother him at all. Several times I was able to find him when he was very close and we thought he had run away. It turned out he was curled up in the closet. Another time he walked down the street to his favorite den where people feed homeless animals. I was able to catch it. Cons: it's not very accurate. If you look at the screen while using the app, the distance jumps everywhere, from 30 feet to 135 feet, while the cat sleeps and doesn't even move. The same problem occurs when you use the Alert feature. This should tell you when your cat is leaving the specified range, which is only near or far. However, my phone keeps ringing saying he's leaving. Again he just sleeps. I don't move in either of these two situations. That makes this feature completely useless because I'll just ignore it for now. The device will only help you find the cat if you know where it might be. If a passerby takes your cat to another out-of-zone area, you won't be able to find it unless you get close enough for it to ping. Of course they will tell you beforehand. But I'll mention that anyway because of my biggest complaint: the price. It's too expensive for what it is. The tags they make for kids are cheaper and better tracked on the app. I see no justification for the high cost. Details, technique and limited accuracy do not justify such a price. Feeling a little predatory, he takes advantage of pet owners' love for their pets. We'd pay anything not to lose our kids, right? But this label just puts my mind at ease a little. As for the app, it would be nice to see the two dots move closer or further apart as you approach your cat or head in the wrong direction, instead of the numbers jumping around. If you're crazy in your quest, it gets even more frustrating. The tag should also have space to add information about the cat: name, phone number, and address. Instead, they mostly show the logo. Let's focus for a moment on the essence of the device: bringing pets home safely. The company has already made its money, why not make it so that we can write our pet's name on it? Many of us don't want multiple tags jingling around our pets' necks, especially when they are outdoors where dogs or coyotes might be attracted to the noise. I got down to it and stuck a small round label, wrote information about him on it and sealed it with transparent tape. This needs to be redone, but so far it's working. A printed label or a printed label solves this problem. I will check for updates. My guess is that this product is made by a small company and that the box had a handwritten thank you note. I hope my feedback helps to improve the product. I really want it to work as well as possible. :)
