Review on High-Performance SHIMANO Tourney 7/8-Speed Rear Derailleur for Mountain Bikes - RD-TX800-L (Black) by Tim Blandin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It doesn't shift between gears as quickly as the previous one and the settings don't seem to do so.

Bought to replace a bent Shimano Tourney SIS on my 2016 Rockhopper. I'm still fumbling with screw B and cable tension. It doesn't shift between gears as quickly as the previous one, and the settings don't seem to make much of a difference. It doesn't shift to my Mega Range 34T rear sprocket, but I assumed it would. I was in a hurry when I ordered and it looked so close I had to replace it. I think I found the exact model I had and ordered it. There seems to be a difference between SIS and non-SIS, although the cage, pulleys, L/H/B placement, shifter cable attachment, etc. are identical to my OEM model.

Pros
  • Sleek and modern design
Cons
  • Crumpled
