    Works great with Shimano derailleurs.

I chose this switch because I was thinking about using the mega range mechanism. I ended up replacing the freewheel with a smaller size and this derailleur works much better/smoother than the Sram 4.0 that came with my bike. Remember to have Shimano derailleurs to have the right gear ratio.

    • The list is getting long.

    Inexpensive and very functional

I was fixing my neighbors bikes so I bought a few and crossed my fingers. They work great, shift smoothly and seem pretty bulletproof for the price. To be honest I can't find any problem with them other than they look cheap. If you want some eye candy you'll need to spend a little more money for a cooler item (I make this for my bikes), but if you just want something that will work well for the foreseeable future, look no further.

    Pros
    • Easy to use

    • Quality

Bought to replace a bent Shimano Tourney SIS on my 2016 Rockhopper. I'm still fumbling with screw B and cable tension. It doesn't shift between gears as quickly as the previous one, and the settings don't seem to make much of a difference. It doesn't shift to my Mega Range 34T rear sprocket, but I assumed it would. I was in a hurry when I ordered and it looked so close I had to replace it. I think I found the exact model I had and ordered it. There seems to be a difference between SIS and…

Not the one in the photo, still works.

I ride 12 miles a day, rode 600 miles on a Walmart bike, my chain and derailleur burned out as expected. I bought it on a budget and got something different. My bike is all black with very little chrome, which is what drew me to it, but I have one with a chrome cage. I didn't find out until after installing it, so it'll stay that way. Now for the installation. I set the switches but that was my first setup. As far as I know it's a 7 speed switch. I installed set screws to free the entire…

Easy installation yes. but 0 instructions for proper setup

I was able to install this in about 5 minutes. It was super easy. However, it didn't include instructions on how to adjust the bolts to get the chain moving properly. The tiny guide is designed to scan a QR code for a manual. I have made. And the instructions were almost the same as the ones in the box. he had no setup instructions. And what sets this switch apart from others I'm used to is that it had 3 adjustment screws versus the 2 most others I've seen have. So now I'm not sure. I think…

A low end derailleur that is surprisingly high quality

Shimano's Tourney component line used to be the lowest 'named' line in Shimano's bicycle component hierarchy (from Tourney to XTR). But over the past decade, Shimano has gradually replaced heavy, cheap steel in the Tourney line with tighter tolerance aluminum. I wanted a full seven speed transmission for my young son's new bike and settled on a Tourney transmission with a full seven speed in the rear and three speeds in the front (21 gear combinations total). I settled on this derailleur that…
