I work for a cat rescue and sometimes cats get upper respiratory infections and need steam. The nozzle can be directed in two directions so when I have two cages side by side this humidifier helps because I can "split" the vapor - it's great too when my husband is sniffing and needs something to clear his head to get. So it worked great for cats and humans. In addition, it is not very expensive and not difficult to clean with regular cleaning. It's not the one I use every day. He doesn't really care about that. But it's great for those casual moments when you need steam.
