Please make sure your network is working properly before adding this device!

Trouble getting this online! As it turned out, Netgear's forced (automatic) firmware update wasn't working properly; He updated the router but not the satellite! The firmware version mismatch created problems that negatively affected adding this device to the network. After manually updating the original satellite to match the router's firmware version (which fixed some serious communication issues between the router and the satellite, which also made it extremely difficult to update the satellite's firmware), adding this one went well device smoothly. but the performance was bad. To resolve this issue, run a system firmware check to update this device to the latest firmware version. This device is referred to as "RBW" and does not necessarily have the same firmware version as the router ("RBR") and satellite(s) ("RBS"), which must have the same version. With everything set up and working properly, this small satellite solved a small problem with a weak signal in a remote room with flying colours; Now the whole house is a solid 3 points. Minus 1 star for the headache of setup, but a full 5 stars for the performance when it's done! Just a tip, if you're having trouble updating a satellite's firmware (or just want to get a good, strong signal where you ultimately want to point it), temporarily move it near your router to set it up. This seems to solve many troubling problems! Much luck!
