Review on ProSensor 710 Franklin Sensors Precision by Derrick Duck

I bought two of these after hearing and reading how good they are and mine worked great initially; The one I gave didn't fit. I was very disappointed that I got my dad a great Christmas present for building his house and that was DOA. The spike finder just gave it false readings, and whether there was a spike or not, it just made all the lights glow. Most of the walls were still open, so he knew where the studs were, he was just checking. Unfortunately I didn't know about it until I visited it, saw it buried in a pile of rubbish and asked him about it. At this point the guarantee was no longer given. As I said, my unit worked great initially, but when I pulled it out of the box for a recent project it was giving me the same erroneous readings as my dads. I ended up having to use the magnet trick to find the nail heads to complete my project. I always keep this thing indoors in a dry place and always take out the batteries if I'm storing them for more than a few days. Pretty frustrating considering how much I paid for it and now I just can't trust this thing.
