Description of ProSensor 710 Franklin Sensors Precision

Advanced Multi-Sense technology senses the wall in multiple locations simultaneously. Bright LEDs lights illuminate to indicate the position of hidden objects - making it very easy to visualize the position of studs. Identifies the width of hidden objects so that you not only know the position of hidden objects, but so you also know the size of them. Can identify the position of multiple studs simultaneously.

great idea - but doesn't work

Yes, great idea - but doesn't work. I was sure everything about it seemed like a huge improvement over the standard SHIT gear that EVERYONE makes and sells. It's like the best mousetrap puzzle - although I found the best mousetrap, a wonderful device. So now I'm knocking on the wall again with my knuckles and drilling small holes. I mounted the sensor on the walls like others had done, with a clear view of the exposed joists above the swaying test walls - and to hell if I couldn't locate it…

The best stud finder on the market. In the first 90 days

This stud finder was without a doubt the best stud finder I had. In the first 90 days and straight out of warranty. My little 5 year old spike finder I found at the Ma and Pa hardware store for $9 including a 9 volt battery has stopped working. Like everyone, I started buying spike finders. I install trim packages and stair railings so I have to cut into studs or it could be life threatening if I don't. A working spike finder is a luxury I enjoy. As I took Franklin in my arms, I blushed from…

First time works. - Scanners and testers

I bought two of these after hearing and reading how good they are and mine worked great initially; The one I gave didn't fit. I was very disappointed that I got my dad a great Christmas present for building his house and that was DOA. The spike finder just gave it false readings, and whether there was a spike or not, it just made all the lights glow. Most of the walls were still open, so he knew where the studs were, he was just checking. Unfortunately I didn't know about it until I visited it,

Pros
  • Decent performance

Anyone can use it, bright visual display, overall great product!

I've been using this thorn finder at home for a while now and you can probably tell from the video that I tried a lot of thorn finders before buying this one. Unlike other spike finders that work primarily by beeping, this one has a bright visual indicator of spike location and anyone can use it! No false negative/positive results. Things you should know: The hairpin must have 3 bulbs (1.5 inch), if you get more bulbs than this, it may NOT be a HAIRPIN! Be careful! If you're not sure, check…

All other needle finders should be phased out

Needle finders are bad for us. 80 year old lath and plaster, the lath is a concrete slab and often the plaster has been covered with drywall. Other screwdrivers will not work. The magnets are also questionable. Instead, I spend a lot of time using other types of anchors. When I installed a TV mount earlier this year, neither method worked, so I decided to go scouting! About a dozen holes in the textured wall that I hope I'll never see, but what a horrible thing. This block: works. 100%. Well…

This is the one you were looking for

My old stud finder got lost on the street so I bought a cheap $20 from my local big store. After it beeped 73 different places on the wall, I ended up with a dozen "test holes" trying to find the stud. Sound familiar? I returned it and decided to try the $30 version of the same brand (the only brand sold at this big store that was actually a "sponsored result" of Revain when I came here to search ) and ended up with exactly the same result. on the second wall of the shelves i put. I decided to…

Perfect. Worked for me by a lathe and plaster. Here are some tips.

After my wife broke her arm, I had to install a temporary railing on the side of the stairwell wall between floors of our home. I first tried my old magnetic viewfinder but it was useless so after reading the reviews I ordered the ProSensor. It proved ideal for the job, being easy and quick to use, despite the inconvenience of that job. First, the house is old, with a heavy lathe and plaster. Secondly, a few years ago I repaired the plaster and edited it so that metal screws were screwed in…

Great product Easy to use

I, like most of you who have bought or are considering a new stud finder, have bought north of 5, south of 10 different makes and types. Many of them were blown to bits by high-speed "accidental" collisions with a wall and/or floor. I was often ashamed of my reaction to another useless Herdseer. But the frustration of buying the latest and greatest device with fancy new features and then finding it doesn't work properly is often more than I can take. The fact is, search engines just don't work…

  • Easy to read control panel

  • So so

Save money, use a magnet and a knuckle

I can't understand why this is such a highly rated spike finder. In theory, the idea is sound. Wider face for more precision. No more guessing where the edges of the lace are, it just shows where the entire lace is, mark left, right and center and you're done. Right? Oh no. Not correct. Not at all. The lights that are supposed to indicate where the entire side of the tip is have absolutely no accuracy, rhyme or reason for it. On repeated attempts to "find" a hairpin whose exact location I knew…
