Review on Motorcraft BRMC 163 Brake Master Cylinder by Victor Garro

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fit perfectly, OEM direct replacement, the price was great, very satisfied.

I searched the internet for general auto parts stores and another major auto parts supplier before purchasing from Revain. The price was more than 50-100% lower than other suppliers, so the choice was clear. If I could buy it locally for a similar price I would buy it a little more. This part is one of several direct replacement master cylinders available for the 98ft Explorer EB. It included the reservoir, wiring harness and cruise control switch, but not the bank breather kit. Some aftermarket kits include a bleed kit, but the cost of this part outweighs the extra few bucks for a stand bleed if you have to purchase it separately. I didn't need a new master cylinder, but I replaced it when I replaced the brake booster (remanufactured, bought locally). The whole project was easy if you do everything in order and don't try to skip steps. Bleeding the brakes took the longest. It was installed for about a month and had no problems like it shouldn't have. Finally, if you are not a pro, know your limits as this is not a project for beginners. If you haven't completed this project yet, work with someone who has. it wasn't a problem for me. I work on my own cars (when time permits) for the sheer joy of repairing and, so to speak, "sticking to the MAN". Sometimes that's not practical, so I refer to it as MEN. However, it may be cheaper to buy the parts and have them fitted at your favorite shop if they will allow it. Most of these guys are worth every penny for the gear and knowledge they have when working with a great business.
