I have medium length straight hair. But my hair is a lot thinner than many other people's, so I'm very careful about using chemicals (I don't use a blow dryer either). I have tried many shampoos and conditioners and none compare to Dove. I've been using Dove for almost 10 years now. Dove is gentle, not too picky about chemicals (at least in my experience), and affordable. I'm not allergic to anything; therefore I cannot comment on this point of view. I use it at least once a week, twice if possible (I wash my hair every day and use the oil before applying shampoo). I hope you know that conditioners shouldn't be applied directly to the scalp. This also applies to Dove.
