rocked them all in the early 2000's, I've always liked the fit but I don't recall them being this bulky. My bootcut jeans don't even cover the whole shoe, which annoys me a bit. I can cover my tongue but my heel is open or I can cover my heel but my tongue is open. Pooh. Overall great shoe has always been a fan. very comfortable and of course they offer excellent grip on almost any surface. although the outsole wears out pretty quickly. They can last about 6 months, then you're onto something like drag slicks. soft rubber soles, but this is necessary for the sport they were designed for. So take the good with the bad. It is a shoe made specifically for this purpose and it is perfect for this purpose. tons of padding in the tongue and heel so you don't rip your ankles off when you tumble, despite having your hamstrings in fair play and wide open if you miss the board. Honestly, I'd rather bear the brunt of my ankles. than the back of the ankle, what w. painful! Great shoes, if you haven't tried them get them, if you had them that day get them again.
