Just got back from the Apple Store after bringing my daughter's 5 month old 16 inch Macbook Pro because the retina display was broken. My daughter needs this computer for a remote school, and I was willing to give Apple the hell of it for breaking a five-month-old $2,300 computer. Until the technician showed me the crack in the display right next to that camera cover! He told me the crack was due to the laptop being closed with the lid closed. So if you have an old laptop with a frame around the screen, feel free to use it. But attaching it directly to the glass panel on the newer models is a disaster.
