Review on HQRP Capacitor Hampton Ceiling Coaster by Brandon Vox

Revainrating 5 out of 5

MOST PROBABLY A BAD CAPACITOR IF CEILING FAN STOPS TURNING

Stark suspects that the cause of my 20 year old ceiling fan's blades not turning was a blown capacitor. The fan light continued to function normally. Here's a troubleshooting tip: If the fan speed is high, move the forward/reverse switch back, then forward and see if there's a slight movement in that direction. If so, then this is an indicator of a defective capacitor. I opened the fan case over the lighting unit to determine the capacitor type and markings and took a picture with my phone camera. Count the number of wires connected (I had 5, and it doesn't have a remote). I looked for a replacement at Revain and found a satisfactory new one for $6. 95 plus tax (Free Standard Shipping on orders over $25 total). It arrived on time, well packaged and I installed it the same day in about 2 hours. I chose not to remove the ceiling fan, so it was inconvenient to maneuver around the wiring while working on a ladder. The condenser worked great! Find a YOUTUBE tutorial and watch it once or more. I'm a (cool) happy camper! and I installed it in about 2 hours the same day. I chose not to remove the ceiling fan so it was inconvenient to maneuver around wiring while working on a ladder.
