Poor engineering causes USB port to fail
This product was not a reliable accessory. The adapter worked initially, but the USB port stopped working after a few weeks. An Apple keyboard and mouse connected to the USB port cannot wake up your MacBook from sleep. After using the built-in trackpad to wake up the laptop, it takes about 5 seconds for the USB port to read the keyboard and mouse again, delaying password entry. Badly designed. Bought for a 2016 Macbook to use USB, HDMI and charge at the same time.
