Review on ๐Ÿงถ FURLS Streamline Swirl Crochet Hook 7 - Size 6.5 mm (K) by Lori Aguirre

Poor workmanship = useless = waste of money

Honestly, I don't understand how Furl's thinks they have a product that costs so many dollars. I mainly use conical hooks from Tulip Etimo or Clover Soft Touch. I work with Bates/Inline style but I don't like them. However, I had to find a non-metal hook for jury work and travel. So I tried this hook. It arrived today and I tried it right away. First, I'm sure they sent me a used one. The box was dirty and appeared to have been opened and closed with plain, badly cut ribbon. Feels good in the hand, well balanced to the grip, but overall much heavier than a crochet hook should be. look normally Doesn't look as rich or handsome as I would expect from a $25 hook. Printing/engraving is fuzzy and difficult to read. Resin is not smooth. If you look at the light you can see thin protrusions perpendicular to the line of the hook where I assume it was made on a lathe. However, all of these complaints would really be minor if the item was actually usable! The tip is too blunt and thicker than any other 4.5mm hook I have (even built in). And yet the end of the hook is so sharp that every stitch I tried to make fell apart. It stuck too tight to the neck because of the almost jagged ridges. I made exactly three stitches with it and put it back in the box to return. No way, no way, it's worth $25. Don't waste your energy. Overall it's really poorly made and not even worth $2.50.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
