Review on ๐Ÿƒ La Sportiva Bushido II Men's Running Shoe: Optimal for Performance by Rudolph Mceachern

Buy a half size for wide feet and you will have great shoes!

I walk through the woods of western Pennsylvania. Clay soil, shale and limestone outcrop with many exposed roots and non-convex topography. I saw this shoe voted best running shoe for rough terrain by Runners World magazine, so I took it and I've already done three runs. Here's my take: Overall: I have a high arch and wide foot (11E) so I'm grateful for the many reviews suggesting I buy this shoe a half size up. Made too tight but fits my foot perfectly. The heel and toe fit is good. The shoe is neither ultra light nor heavy - overall I would call it a light trail running shoe. Feel: As already mentioned, if you have a wide foot, you should definitely buy half a size. I did and never felt like I was walking around in "Dad's shoes". The sock-like construction of the upper gives the foot good support. However, the laces seem to be about 1.5-2 inches shorter for a good double knot if you have a high arch/wide foot like me. The sole is firm but comfortable; It's not a soft shoe (which I prefer for road running) but I found it perfect for trail running. Performance: really great; amazing actually. The outsole responds very well to the hard, uneven ground I walk on. Great support of both the outsole and the upper for my foot. My leg doesn't move AT ALL when I run, which of course is what you want. Thanks to the responsiveness of the outsole and the placement of the cleats on the bottom, I never slipped even on wet rocks. The lightness of the shoe allows you to move quickly when needed. Conclusion: These are not cheap shoes, but they are worth the money. Unless you have narrow feet, don't ignore the advice to buy sneakers half a size larger. Great trail running shoes!
