I have to disagree with the power of the magnet - I'm very impressed!

Not sure if others try to attach them to inferior or thicker painted steel, but they stuck to my steel roof really well! I've tested my fridge, tool box, and roof and each seem to be able to hold about 5 pounds upright. I have a string of 25 high quality C9 bulbs and two of them were able to hold the whole string while it hung.
