I bought this because the smart tv remote control is very fragile. If you just knock it off the couch onto the floor, it may break. I figured something like Wii remote covers would help and found this. While I don't think the wrist strap adds anything, the case is exactly what I was looking for and did an excellent job of cushioning the remote after it was dropped a few times. It also makes the remote a little less slippery. It glows in the dark which doesn't do any of my usefulness either but entertains a 7 year old who likes to hide in the couch cushion.
