I have a daybed whose material has seen better days. I bought a full cover from the same manufacturer to cover it but the pillowcases only cover the top and sides of the pillow leaving the bottom of the pillow showing the original material. Most of the time this works fine, but if the pillow material is in such poor condition that the batting material is showing and your cats find those flimsy white pieces irresistible, it's best to cover both sides. I was a little concerned that if both sides had separate covers the elastic holding the pillowcase would show, but that didn't happen and the couch looks a lot better.
