Review on πŸ”© Peachtree 927 Forstner Bit Extender by Brad Bowers

That works great. especially with hex shanks.

I have a set of 31 Grizzly pieces and have been not sure which extension would fit. Grizzly support told me they don't have anything except somewhere online. Pretty useful. I gave it a try and it works very well. This thing is very durable and a lot bigger than I expected. Has two fairly standard built in screws along with a small Allen key.I recommend gluing some small magnets (or a long thin one) to the handle to hold the key so it doesn't get lost.Wiggles or wobbles at standard forstner bit speeds it won't fly.If you are using hex shanks, you must turn them so that the screws are flush with the hex face when tightened. In other words, zie do not explicitly grasp the sharp edge of the hex shank. I was a little worried that the screws wouldn't go deep enough to properly secure the hex shank, but that wasn't a problem at all. Once secured I had no issues with the 7 inch hole.

Pros
  • Drilling with Forstner bits to make a flat bottomed hole or to start a deep hole turning project e.g. B. on a large vase or vessel, is almost impossible with a standard-length Forstner bit. To solve this problem we have designed a reinforced steel extension that allows you to hold a 3/8" shank Forstner bit in an end collet.
