Problems with the watch: 1. Came bubble wrap but (apart from the outer mailer box) no inner box and papers.2. At first I thought the watch was defective. I put in the batteries, set the time, and heard the first anthem. After that, hour after hour, the clock remained still. It wasn't until I looked it up online that I discovered that it has a neat feature where it's intentionally silent "at night". The actual hours when it should be quiet are not specified. It's just laziness. And if the company had taken care to include a simple 1-sheet instruction manual, that would have taken away my frustration that it won't play. (The face is a 12-hour dial, but inside it maintains a 24-hour cycle. It plays its final anthem at midnight and starts again at 9am)3. Worn faux gold embellishment in lower right front corner.4. The dial shows the names of the hymns for each hour, but the actual hymn played deviates from the dial at 2 o'clock. The minute hand is bent away from the dial (like someone tried to pry it off?)6. Three hymns sound wrong. I don't know if the chip is defective, damaged, or programmed incorrectly. Points 1, 3, 5 and 6 make me wonder if I received a defective watch that someone sent back and it has just been resent to me. .I like the rest of the anthems played correctly and the curved minute hand and fraying at the end don't bother me too much. So I will not send it back. It was given to me and overall I like it. But I can't really recommend it. On the good side, the sound quality is high. It's not a piece of tin like a musical postcard. The bells sound like real bells or chimes (even if they play gibberish 3 times out of 12). And the batteries were included, so that's a plus.
