Review on AUTOHAUX Universal Throttle Stainless Accelerator Replacement Parts by Chris Cruz

Quality throttle cable for old car upgrades

While restoring an old Mopar truck I decided to replace the old single barrel carburetor with a new 4 barrel carburetor. Everything needed was new: exhaust manifold, intake manifold, carburetor, etc. I found a basic throttle cable bracket on a Revain for only $20 and diligently searched for a custom throttle cable. It worked great, but it's tricky. (1) Install the whole cable in the car to check the fit, and remove the inner cable from the outer shell. (2) Wrap thick tape around the body part to be cut, mark clearly and cut off only the stainless steel mesh with a Dremmel cutting wheel. Cut the Teflon core with a razor blade. Carefully install the cable on the adjustable end of the throttle cable and attach it to the carburetor. Should be tight and stable. (3) Run the cable through the pedal, inside the body to the carburetor and clearly mark the length of the cut (ensure it can go deep into the bracket - it's important to test the fit before cutting) . Cutter. If the cable frays, you have a problem. I've found that you want to carefully weld the tip of the wire to join it together. (4) Done correctly, you will get a factory result. DO NOT overtighten aluminum hardware.
