I bought this key thinking I could take the metal part out of my existing key and use it with this new housing as my old one broke after years of use. It turned out that the metal key part was not interchangeable and I had to find a place to copy my old key onto this new blank shape. At the same time, even taking into account the cost of manufacturing a new key, buying it here was much cheaper than buying a similar model in a locksmith shop. The newly cut blank fits nicely on the door lock and ignition on my 2002 Lexus is300.
