Came in retail packaging. This is a one-piece device, with no accessories and a 12-page half-page instruction manual. Don't worry about loose parts, the plug is firmly attached and plugs directly into the cigarette adapter. I like the compact size and feel of this device. I look forward to having this on our next hike. If your primary use is in a running car you can buy larger output units with fans and have no problems, but if you're concerned about the backup power situation you want your inverter to be as efficient as possible and this model matches mine Requirements.
