While we love our helmets (yes we have two because my husband liked mine we bought him one too) I don't like that my husband's straps already are broken. One of the straps came off the helmet and needs to be glued back on. For what we paid for the helmet I don't feel we should "fix" it after two months of use. And NO, we don't hit our stuff. He wears it as it should when cycling.
