Review on Effortless Precision: Introducing πŸ”ͺ the Work Sharp Pocket Knife Sharpener by Mario Bullard

Good Little Sharpener

I chose this for hiking. I also planned to use it to teach boy scouts how to sharpen knives. I think this will suffice on both counts. The small size and ease of use will appeal to scouts. Also, the angle markings help explain the importance of maintaining the angle when using the stone. The backpack fits in the case of my Benchmade 940, so I can put it in my case and in my backpack and not worry about the diamond sand tearing anything in my backpack. My 940, s30v steel, needed a touch up so I decided to test it out to see how it performs. I was able to trace the working edge back in about 20 strokes on each side and 10 strokes on each side of the ceramic. The diamond stone offered some resistance, I felt the knife get stuck a few times during the first few passes. It's great for what it is, it's a small pocket sharpener with angled guides. If you plan on sticking to a certain bevel angle, you might want to decline because the angle guides will get in the way if you try to do less than the angle guides allow. That being said, this is a great way to learn how to hand sharpen thanks to these guides. All in all, a compact and lightweight solution for sharpening knives when your usual sharpening method isn't available.
