The best feature for us was the ability to have a large enough water tank to place next to the unit. This does 2 things: (1) eliminates the need to fill the coffee maker with water each time you use it, and (2) the tank can be placed where it is most convenient to fill it. We were disappointed that there is no way to make 4 cups with the carafe function. This means that the minimum for this function is 6 cups. The K-Cup feature allows you to brew 4, 8, or 12 oz. The instructions could have been improved because when we first bought it we thought it was defective even though we didn't know anything about things that could interfere with the brewer's work.
