Review on Pearl iZUMi Women's Escape Sugar Short: Optimal Comfort and Style for Active Women by Justin Spoja

Revainrating 4 out of 5

What happened to the fit and size of the PEARL iZUMi?

Reading other people's reviews of sizes and short runs is a gross understatement. FITI bought five pairs of PEARL iZUMi Riding Shorts between 2017 and 2018, including four Escape Sugar Shorts, all of which are regular sizes and fit like a glove. The Escape Sugar Shorts are from 2019 and don't come close to the sizes that PEARL iZUMi had before. PEARL iZUMi clearly needs to use another supplier to make their clothes, resulting in massive quality control oversight. It's like a clothing company using a baby pattern and not the sizes PEARL iZUMi gave them, on the other hand PEARL iZUMi has to do quality control. . I bought Large and X-Large. The big one was so small I could barely pull him up to my knees. I managed to get the X-Large out but it sat oddly in the back due to the padding. As an avid cyclist who rides over 1,000 miles a year, I know how cycling shorts should fit: tight enough to hold padding in place so it doesn't chafe, but not so tight that it compresses too much . So triathlon attractions tend to be very tight fitting, but it is by no means a triathlon attraction and if it were it would be sooooo tight. stated that these shorts are incredibly small, which they do. I also had an issue with the upholstery, particularly in the seating area. As I mentioned before, the geometry got messed up. Well I ordered another X-Large (two sizes up) just to see if it was a one time issue and it turned out to be a one time issue. I attribute this to either a change in the supplier-manufacturer or the quality control system, or both. The X-Large is a bit tight now, but I guess I ride enough to stretch a bit and if I went to the XX-Large it would be huge... To help, I'm an athletic build (in extremely good shape). rides) measuring 5 feet 8 inches in height and weighing 160 pounds. CONCLUSION The shorts are well made in terms of seams and material, but are incredibly small. If you're a Prime subscriber, try two sizes up and see which one works best for you, and return the one that doesn't fit. At least you'll know what works in the future, at least until PEARL iZUMi makes a change... I gave four stars because they don't fit like gloves like my previous PEARL iZUMi shorts.
