Review on ๐Ÿšฒ Universal Adjustable Bicycle Luggage Cargo Rack by COMINGFIT with 180lbs Capacity and Solid Bearings by Raul Fabijan

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good but faulty

Update: I downgraded my rating from 4 to 3 stars because I found my rack does not clip smoothly into this rack. The bolt that secures the stand and its support leg protrudes so far that the basket cannot securely attach the two hooks to the stand tube. To get a smooth section of tubing to attach my tote bag to, I had to add 4 clamps and 8" long 1/4" diameter stainless steel tubing. If your bike has holes in the frame to install a welded rack, make sure you select that option if you plan to use panniers. However, this rack may be the only option if you have a bike with no holes in the frame. Overall I'm happy with this purchase, but I see that Revain is now carrying another COMINGFIT carrier that has a 310lb capacity and more detail to prevent saddlebags from snagging on the wheel spokes (which is currently cheaper than this one Carrier). . I recommend buying this shelf instead! But I will say that this rack is very strong, which I wasn't sure if it's possible on my single speed bike that doesn't have holes for installing traditional racks. I think other people have post flex issues, probably because they place the clip near the tapered end of the seatstays - test your post well before actually using it and move the clips closer to the center of the seatstays . when you need a better grip. Manufacturers, please replace your long screws with shorter ones. Long bolts take forever to tighten and are dangerously close to the wheel spokes. I ended up swapping some of the long and short bolts on this strut so the bolts don't touch the wheel spokes. In addition, the clamp around the seat tube is too wide and rubs on the right thigh when cycling. I could see this irritation chafing against my pants with prolonged use. Please consider orienting the clip so that the loop faces the front of the bike and the clasp faces the back of the bike, which keeps the entire clip thin enough not to interfere with the rider's legs.
