Fiber optic installed in house. 150 down 150 up. The ISP installer refused to route the connection up where my computer is located. I decided to place the router below. Tried this adapter set as an alternative to running ethernet cables inside or outside the home or using WiFi. After receiving the set, the adapters refused to connect. After hours of rage and trying multiple socket configurations, I finally managed to connect them. Place one adapter next to the router and the other on top next to the PC. I managed to connect them, but the speed left a lot to be desired. Tried every combination of sockets available below and above. I even turned off all devices to make sure they weren't making noise on the line. The max speed achieved at my house was 40 down and 30 up with a quality bar indicated in the included utility. That's less than 1/3 of my maximum speed if connected directly to the router. It was worth it. I understand that there are many variables to consider when using powerline adapters. This device didn't seem to like the way my house was hooked up.
