Review on ๐Ÿ”” Ford OEM 9L3Z-13832-A Horn Assembly by Patrick Diaz

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It works. However. in Horns & Accessories

Ordered for the 1999 Ford F-150 XLT XCab - 4 stars because it wasn't plug 'n' play, although Revain said it was a fluke.1. The bracket provided is not compatible, so you will need to remove the horns and replace them with the old bracket.2. The old wiring harness does not fit directly, so you will need the suggested 2-wire wiring harness.3. You will also need a whip ball and butt plug end connectors. Each of my original horns had a horn for feeding. Power was supplied by three wires, all hot, no ground. One horn was powered by a wire, the other by two wires pinched together. Test showed both groups were 12v My final installation steps were as follows: 1. Connect the male connector to the white/black wire of the new 2 wire harness2. Connect the bump connector to the white wire of the new wiring harness 23. Fit the new horns to the old bracket (do not tighten the horn to the wiring harness connector yet) 4. Insert the fork connector between the horn nut and the bracket and tighten.5. 2 Plug the wiring harnesses into the horn6. Install holder with new horns and wiring harness 7. Insert the connector into the socket on the original wiring harness.8. Beep beep beep as much as you want. This works because the power is grounded through the bracket to the frame. The original horn did this by grounding the horn through the center horn mounting screw, but the new horn doesn't seem to work the same way. By the way, I'm not a mechanic or electrician, so follow my steps at your own risk. but my horn works, so here's the thing.
