These rubbers are very strong and I feel completely safe in them. The wrist is well protected. In general there are only two things that bother me: 1) These pads get HOT but to be honest I used them on a muggy 33C day but after 15 minutes my joints/arms were very sweaty. 2) The main reason I gave them 4/5 is that the elbow and knee pads are a bit loose. They don't move around or anything, but they just don't feel 100% safe, more like 85-90%. (I'm a size 14 adult and about 20 years old with medium skinny arms and legs). But in the end these are great pads and I would recommend them to anyone.
