My wife wanted me to hook up our old WII console so our grandkids could play when they came to visit. Unfortunately, the wall TV she was planning to use didn't have a composite video cable, and I didn't want to use the standard WII composite video cable and flaunt it (nor did I want to open the wall up again). I wasn't expecting much from this adapter but it actually works exactly as I hoped it would. Plug it into your Wii, connect it to your TV with an HDMI cable, and you're done. It does not require an external power supply.
