These cargo shorts have the usual front patch pockets (which are slightly deeper than usual as you would expect from cargo shorts); back pockets with button closure; and front patch pockets, both with button closures. The shorts are very comfortable. However, there is one thing that struck me as odd about them. Despite a fully functional front zip, the shorts don't really open at the waist. Elastic waistband runs all around. So you put them on like track pants. The size is exactly as it should be. I took size 40, put it on the table and tried it on. They were exactly 20 inches wide (x2 = 40). However, please note that the exact fit may not meet your specifications. At 40 inches when I put them on the elastic didn't stretch at all. That means I have to wear a belt to keep them from falling off. Had I known this I would have ordered a 38 so the elastic would stretch and hold them on their own. The seat and hips have a nice relaxed fit, as cargo shorts should be. I have army green, a nice rich dark green that looks great.
